Urb

Illustration 4 assignment for this week. It was based off of a couple of urban legends, I chose one about scientists finding hieroglyphics that seemed to be shaped like helicopters/flying machines that looked like they could carry supplies to make pyramids.

Natural Science illustration

Unfortunately most of these projects the teacher likes to take and keep until the end of the semester. Lucky these I was able to scan in before handing in.

A turkey feather, a study of how feathers are and look up close.

An in depth study of butterfly wings. On one side a deep study of the wing's veins, and on the other a color study.

Our first project, a study of a "stick". I liked this one for the weird hole it had in the middle.

Illustration III

My work so far for fall semester 09. (Newest to old)
A final sketch for an upcoming illustration. The image is based off of the poem which will be located in the middle of the dress. I am also going to hand-paint the title of the poem; "Windy Morning"

This was an illustration for the short story "Tonto Woman"; a woman who was taken by Native Americans at a very young age, and they tattooed blue strips onto her face on both sides. The editor original note said they wanted the illustration to focus on the tattoos.

An illustration based off of strange police records over a year from a small town. One of the reports mentioned intoxicated squirrels. I played off the idea and turned it into a post card.

An illustration of a scene from the poem "Jabberwocky".

A one-word illustration. The assignment was to take one word and try to illustrate it. The word I chose was "Affection".

Quick doodle

Just a quick inking of my character Qi~
